Tudela wins SGA October Ace

Alex Tudela won the Saipan Golfers Association Ace of the Month Tournament for October held last Oct. 17 at the Kingfisher Golf Links in Talafofo.
Tudela bested a 15-man field after shooting a net 72 built around a gross of 81. The nine-handicapper fired a 39 in the front nine and a 42 in the back nine.
A stroke back was Nick Sablan who shot a 73 net, while Ed Sablan completed the Top 3 with a post-handicap score of 74.
Tudela now joins SGA’s 2021 Ace of the Year qualifiers Das Krishnan (January), Joe I. Sablan (February), Frances M. Sablan (March), Rick Kautz (April), Tony Benavente (May), Ed Manibusan (June), Nick Sablan (July), Jung Eun Teack (August), and Larry Deleon Guerrero (September) for the club’s yearend tournament.
In the closest to the pin competition, Rick Kautz took the win in hole No. 6, while Frances Sablan was without peer in hole No. 8. Rene Batalones was numero uno in hole No. 12, while Nick Sablan was unbeatable in hole No. 15. Longest drive belonged to Tony T. Benavente who won both the 2nd and 10th holes.
SGA’s Ace of the Month Tournament for November and Turkey Shoot will be held at Kingfisher Golf Links this Sunday, Nov. 21. Tee time is at 9am with show time at 8:30am.
