Tsunami Saipan swimmers mark 51 PBTs

Tsunami Swimming Center Saipan swimmers collected 51 personal best times during the 2016 Northern Mariana Island Swimming Federation Meet 3 held early this month at the Kan Pacific Swimming Pool.
The most PBTs (excluding the five age group marks posted by Isaiah Aleksenko, Aika Watanabe, and Juhn Tenorio) were recorded in the 50m freestyle and 100m freestyle events with 10 apiece, while nine and eight were made in the 50m backstroke and 200m individual medley, respectively.
In the 50m freestyle, the PBT getters in the girls U8 were Sakura Hara (56.67 seconds) and Fiona Regan (58.82). Seiyul Hong (41.57 seconds) and Angelie Tobias (59.17) had the same feat in the girls 9 to 10 age group, while boys U8’s Keisuke Asakura (1:15.82), boys 9 to 10’s Sean Gil (36.50), Kean Pajarillaga (46.06), and Alex Kim (52.59), and boys 13 to 14’s Nelson Batallones (30.62) and Kevin Guerrero (43.10) also got PBTs in the sprint.
Nelson’s sister, Maria logged a PBT in the 100m freestyle after submitting 1:30.91. Other swimmers in the girls field who posted PBTs in the two-lap race were 9 to 10’s Shoko Litulumar (1:34.22) and Seiyul (1:43.61), 11 to 12’s Ayumi Obligacion (1:36.93) and 13 to 14’s Aika Watanabe (1:12.83).
In the boys division, Pajarillaga also made a PBT with his 1:39.32, while Hans Xu (1:16.15), Tenorio (1:10.17), Dan Illahi (1:38.75), and Guerrero (1:34.83) duplicated that feat.
In the 50m backstroke, the PBT getters were Fiona Regan (1:04.12), Hara (1:08.00), Julia Jinang (1:08.80), Cassie Regan (1:18.62), Obligacion (42.66 seconds), Aika Watanabe (37.49 seconds), Xu (39.13), Gil (48.70), and Kim (57.50).
In other results, siblings Ashley and Aasish Dangol posted the two PBTs in the 100m butterfly after clocking in at 1:17.72 and 1:30.23, respectively. Aasish also logged one of the only two PBTs in the 100 breaststroke (1:50.11). The other one was made by Asaka Litulumar (1:38.55). Ashley, on the other hand, made two more PBTs—50m butterfly (33.45 seconds) and 200m IM (2:56.91).
The seven other PBTs in the 200m IM were registered by Shoko Litulumar (3:47.75), Obligacion (3:27.87), Aika Watanabe (3:05.76), Aasish (3:16.70), Tenorio (2:50.56), and Xu (3:05.76).
In the 200m breaststroke, both Aika and Asaka earned PBTs after timing in at 3:17.21 and 3:36.21, respectively, while Maria Batallones got a PBT in the 100m backstroke (1:45.75) and Anthony Camacho-Deleon Guerrero had the same achievement in the 800m freestyle 11:16.20). Aika’s sister, Nanaka, and Asaka added the 50m breaststroke to their PBT list after clocking in at 41.63 seconds and 43.42, respectively.
