Tsingtao Beer nosed out IT&E Dark in overtime, while Connie’s BBQ outclassed Pardz Ballers, as action in the 2019 One Pacific Promotional Basketball League continued last Tuesday at the Civic Center Court in Susupe.

Jet Jandoc made a basket in the closing seconds of the extension period to lift Tsingtao to a 74-72 victory in the curtain-raiser, while Connie’s BBQ kept its unbeaten record following an 80-73 triumph over Pardz Ballers in the nightcap.

Jandoc scored all, but one of Tsingtao’s 8 markers in overtime, as he drilled three field goals in that frame, including the dagger to complete the team’s come-from-behind victory.

Tsingtao faced an 8-point deficit after the third period, 43-51, but Jandoc brought the team back in the fourth and nearly won in regulation. He scored 11 points in the fourth canto, but could not give Tsingtao the victory right away, as IT&E Dark nailed important free throws down the stretch to force the standoff. Ivan Devero had three free throws, while Raymark Castro made one to bring the game in overtime.

IT&E Dark eventually fell short in the extra five minutes, as it failed to contain Jandoc, who finished with 25 markers. Devero paced IT&E Dark with his 34 points.

Meanwhile, Connie’s BBQ began controlling its game against Pardz in the second quarter and managed to protect the lead in the last two periods for the team’s third victory in as many games.

Joel Danao top-scored for Connie’s BBQ with his 16 points and got a lot of help from his teammates. Charlie Centina added 12, Jay Cabang contributed 11, and Darwin Barbo chipped in 10.
