Tropical depression won’t affect CNMI

Tropical Depression 01 forming near Palau is expected to become a tropical storm by today, but is not expected affect the Marianas.

According to an advisory from the National Weather Service in Guam, Tropical Depression 01 is moving west at 14 mph. It is expected to make a slight turn toward the west northwest with a decrease in forward speed over the next 24 hours.

The system continues to move away from the Marianas and is expected to continue on this path for the rest of the week.

Tropical Depression 01 is expected to become a tropical storm as it makes it was to the Philippines today.
