The University of Guam has set their fall semester varsity sport tryout schedule for the Triton Athletics and Field House Department. UOG will start with basketball tryouts first and end their tryouts with women’s indoor volleyball.
“We are so happy that we could return to the athletic fields and courts in the spring of 2022 and now in the fall, we plan on expanding the program to seven sports and hopefully we can play 10 sports in a couple of years,” said UOG Athletic director Doug Palmer.
Triton Athletics has brought back the women’s volleyball program, both the full six player indoor version and the two-player beach version as well. Triton Athletics hopes to play men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and women’s basketball, baseball, women’s rugby, and women’s volleyball in 2022-23.
Palmer says that men’s volleyball and men’s rugby will be high on the list of new sports for 2023-24 academy year as well as a women’s softball team too, plus cross country and maybe some other sports depending on the potential student interest in them.
