Triple J Saipan, Inc. generously sponsored the venue for an evening of mentorship and delicious food for students from the Million Dollar Scholar program at Kagman High School, Marianas High School, and Saipan Southern High School.
Mentor for a Meal, or M4M, is an ongoing networking program that was initiated by the Marianas Young Professionals, MYPros. It provides high schools students an opportunity to connect with young professionals in the community to seek advice and guidance for the future endeavors such as being college bound or entering the workforce post-graduation.
The 11th M4M event was held at Triple J’s Surf Club Saipan in Chalan Kanoa, where students, advisers, and mentors were provided a buffet-style dinner set up by the beach to accompany a night of conversation and insight.
“We thank MYPros for their continued contributed efforts in growing our young leaders. They’ve built a bridge for our youth to walk on to higher education and a step toward their desired dreams,” said Triple J Saipan Inc business development manager Perry Inos, Jr.
MDS juniors and seniors were grouped with a member of the MYPros board of directors: MYPros president Michelle Atalig, Matt Deleon Guerrero, Nicole Babauta, Bobby Cruz, and Monique Boyer Sablan.
“We are grateful to Triple J Saipan, Inc. for making the commitment to invest in our youth through programs like MDS. Without their sponsorship, events like Mentor for a Meal would not be possible,” said Atalig.
Members of the MYPros board presented Triple J Saipan, Inc. with a certificate of appreciation for investing in the Million Dollar Scholar program to support college and career readiness; positive youth development; and for their continued partnership in promoting positive social change in the Marianas.
“Our goal is to help guide students on a college and career pathway by helping them find success through young professionals’ experiences. We believe that students who participate in MDS become tomorrow’s young professionals who will return to serve our island community,” said Atalig. “We plan on continuing the Mentor for a Meal program and we invite other organizations to join the cause and become a corporate sponsor today.” (PR)
