Triple J Enterprises has joined the list of sponsors of this year’s Liberation Day festival, donating over $2,000 for the event.

Valentina Haberman, Triple J corporate marketing manager and Liberation Day committee logistics chair, said the turnover last Friday makes formal Triple J’s donation $2,500 and manpower to this year’s Liberation Day festival.

“We understand that this year, there were a lot of budget cuts and we [Liberation Day committee] are really pushing hard to receive in-kind and cash donations,” she said.

Haberman said that Triple J thought it would be best to donate cash due to the budget cuts implemented this year that has also impacted this year’s Liberation Day committee and manpower was included to ensure the festivities run as smoothly as possible.

“At the end of the day, it’s to support the community…and coming together for nine days to bring entertainment,” she said.

This year, there will be over 20 food vendors and 10 retail vendors at the festival. “We have very limited spaces for food and retail, which is great…but we want to make sure that each vendor gets to maximize their items for sale…” Haberman said.

The Liberation Day festival will be held at the Garapan Fishing Base starting on June 29 and will lead up to the annual Liberation Day Parade on July 4.
