Triple J Motors has announced that it is offering a brand new 2020 Mazda 3 as a hole-in-one prize in the upcoming 16th Annual NMC Foundation Golf Tournament. The golf tournament is currently scheduled for Saturday, March 20, 2021, at the LaoLao Bay Golf & Resort.

Originally scheduled to happen in 2019, the tournament was canceled because of the impact of Super Typhoon Yutu and was rescheduled for March of 2020. However, the COVID-19 pandemic caused the tournament to be postponed again.

“The NMC Foundation Golf Tournament raises funds that ultimately benefit student programs and services at Northern Marianas College,” said Sean Ficke, Triple J Motors general manager. “Our company is proud to be part of this effort, and we look forward to a great game of golf on March 20.

“Triple J Motors, along with the other Triple J companies, continues to be one of the most ardent supporters of Northern Marianas College,” said NMC interim president Frankie Eliptico. “We are extremely grateful for their contribution to this year’s tournament and their support for all these years.”

The NMC Foundation 16th annual open golf tournament will be held on the east course of the LaoLao Bay Golf & Resort. Showtime is at 6am and the shotgun start will be at 7am. The tournament will follow a medal play format. COVID-19 preventative measures will be followed and enforced at the tournament grounds.

First place winners in the men’s Championship, A, B, C, Senior, and Ladies Flights will each receive $500, while $300 and $200 will go to the second and third place finishers, respectively. Hole-in-one prizes also include two $5,000 hole-in-one prizes from McDonald’s and Pacifica Insurance Underwriters, Inc., as well as a 2020 Kia Soul from Joeten Motors. The tournament will also feature many other items such as raffle prizes like smartphones, hotel stays, meals, and much more.

The maximum number of golf players has been reached, therefore, registration is closed for this year’s tournament. Interested players can still apply to be on the waitlist by emailing NMC Foundation coordinator Carla Sablan at carla.sablan@marianas.edu.

The college is asking companies, organizations, or individuals who are interested in sponsoring holes and/or for any in-kind or cash donation to help support the CNMI’s post-secondary institution. For more information on how to become a sponsor, please call 237-6780. (PR)
