Triple J Saipan Inc. donated 120 nights at Saipan Surfrider Hotel and an equal number of days of car rentals as part of its silver sponsorship agreement for this year’s Northern Marianas Pacific Mini Games 2022.
Northern Marianas Pacific Mini Games Organizing Committee CEO Vicente “Ben” Babauta said the generous in-kind donation of Triple J will go a long way in making sure the CNMI’s guests in this coming quadrennial games will be comfortable and welcome in their stay in the Commonwealth.
“I would like to thank Triple J and its group of companies for a really, really outstanding donation for the Pacific Mini Games. We’re expecting over 1,800 visitors that includes over 1,200 athletes, 300 team officials and coaches, and Pacific Games associates including over 20 media from all over the Pacific,” he said.
Babauta said the Mini Games will not only highlight the athletic excellence of athletes from around the region, but also will also give the CNMI an opportunity to play perfect hosts to the nearly 2,000 athletes, officials, and other guests bound for the islands this coming June.
“It’s a unique first time ever that we will be hosting the Pacific Mini Games. It used to be called South Pacific Mini Games and now it’s just Pacific Mini Games. It’s quite exciting also for the entire [Northern] Marianas as we gear up and showcase our culture [and traditions]. We are also bringing other sports to Rota and Tinian. Your sponsorship will go a long way in lieu of obviously exposure and that’s what we’re really working very hard with our marketing team,” he added.
At the center of Triple J’s silver sponsorship for the Mini Games is their flagship hotel, Saipan Surfrider Hotel.
“The rooms are being used as we speak and we’re bringing in international delegates along with international technical support and this is the [hotel] they will be using. Right after that, tennis will also be coming in, golf is on the way, and va’a. So the next couple of weeks Surfrider will be quite busy. We really, really appreciate the support to the games organizing committee. Yu’us ma’åse.”
For his part, Triple J president and COO Jeff Jones said his company is glad to do its share in the CNMI’s successful hosting of the Mini Games, which is set from June 17 to 25 this year.
“Triple J has been a part of the community for many years and it’s part of our philosophy to give back to the community that’s given so much to us. So, we’re just happy to be able to do this and support the Northern Marianas Pacific Mini Games this time with rooms and car [rentals]. I thinks it’s 120 nights of rooms and 120 days of car [rentals]. We’re just thankful to be able to contribute and be part of this great program,” he said.
