Trench Tech fighters renew PXC deals
Trench Tech fighters Shane “Pikaboo” Alvarez, Josh “Chaos” Duenas, and Vince “The Clinch” Masga signed fresh six-fight deals with Pacific X-Treme Combat, making them busy until 2016.
Trench Tech promoter Cuki Alvarez told Saipan Tribune that the three are scheduled to have two to three fights this year until 2016.
“They will be busy until 2016. But of course all three of them have been training non-stop to remain in shape and in fighting form,” said the older Alvarez.
Masga (5-1, with 3 by submission) will be the first to climb the PXC cage when he takes on Scotty “Da Slaya” Eclavea of Guam in PXC’s inaugural event in 2015.
Masga is still fresh from winning his PXC debut in PXC 45 where he scored a unanimous decision victory against hometown bet McKlane Alfred (3-2, with 1 knockout) last Oct. 24 at the University of Guam Fieldhouse in Mangilao.
It was also Masga’s second straight win after losing by technical submission—rear-naked choke—in the third round to Guam’s Ricky “2 Slick” Camp (4-3, with 2 KOs) in Rites of Passage 16: Unleashed in April last year. His first was recorded against Daniel Floor at Rites of Passage 17 also last year.
Eclavea is no pushover as the Guam fighter, who holds a 3-1 card with 2 wins by submission, is coming off a unanimous decision victory against compatriot Mike Sanchez (1-1) also in PXC 45.

Shane Alvarez will be fighting in May in a separate PXC event when he visits the Philippines to challenge former PXC bantamweight champion Crisanto Pitpitunge of Baguio City’s famous Lakay MMA.
Alvarez (10-2, with 3 KOs and 3 submissions) is aiming for some payback after Pitpitunge handed stablemate Duenas his fifth loss in last year’s PXC 44 in Guam.
Alvarez is also coming off a loss to Ultimate Fighting Championship veteran Darren Uyenoyama of San Francisco, California (9-5, with 4 submissions) in PXC 45 last October.
Pitpitunge, after dropping two straight matches, including a unanimous decision defeat to Japanese challenger Michinori Tanaka that cost him the 135-pound belt in PXC 37 almost two years ago, is fresh from a split decision win over former Thai kickboxer Rambaa Somdet in November.
Duenas (4-5, with 3 submissions) is still waiting for PXC’s confirmation on the schedule of his next fight and his opponent.
