Tree planting support for Pacific Games this Saturday

Share

Each Pacific Games country is asked to plant new trees as an effort and symbol to replace emissions and resources used during the 2019 Pacific Games. The 16th edition of the Pacific Games will be held in Apia, Samoa in July.

The CNMI’s Micronesia Islands Nature Alliance, Forestry Division, and Parks and Recreation will provide tree seedlings, tools, and support for this on Saturday, May 18, at 8:30am at the Garapan Fishing Base under the MINA banner.

This marks “50 Days Out” until the Pacific Games start and the “Greening of the Games,” which will also go single-use and plastic-free in line with the Samoan government’s Plastic Ban Initiative that supports a clean environment.

Please join this event in support of CNMI Pacific Game athletes and environment.
