Forty-three travel agents from Hangzhou, China, took a familiarization tour of Saipan in February 2014 to gain first-hand information about the destination. Direct flights from Hangzhou to this beach resort destination now fly every six days beginning in January 2014.

The travel agents visited in two separate groups between Feb. 22 and March 4. While on island, they inspected Aquarius Beach Tower, Kanoa Resort, Sun Palace, Coral Ocean Point Resort, Fiesta Resort & Spa, Hyatt Regency Saipan, Mariana Resort & Spa, Kingfisher Golf Course, Century Hotel, Kingfisher Golf Course, and Fiesta Resort & Spa.

“With the launch of direct flights from Hangzhou this year, this FAM tour will give travel agents first-hand experience with the Northern Marianas. This exposure will allow them to better sell tour packages here and keep demand for those flights high,” said Marianas Visitors Authority marketing manager Bruce Bateman. “The MVA is pleased to partner with Century Tours on this FAM tour.”

The travel agents also visited award-winning Managaha, Nilala Spa, Kingfisher Golf Course and Sunny Car Rental. Other activities included a jungle tour, a Seawalker tour, a Star ATV tour, and a submarine tour. Meals were provided at Shirley’s Coffee Shop, Kanoa Resort Barefoot BBQ, 360 Revolving Restaurant, Fiesta Resort & Spa dinner show, Kinpachi Restaurant, Saipan Sunset Cruise, and Hyatt Regency Saipan.(MVA)
