Police officers were dispatched to the Garapan Fishing Base last Saturday, July 27, 2019, at about 9:21am, in response to a 911 call reporting a stolen vehicle.

Officers arrived at the scene at about 9:42am and noticed two male individuals standing near a white Toyota Sienna. As the officers approached the two, one stated that he was the one who dialed 911 and would like to file a report of a stolen vehicle. Through video surveillance footage, officers learned that the white Toyota Sienna had been stolen earlier that morning by unknown suspects who have covered their faces with a black T-shirt.

During a quick interview, officers learned that the two victims work at BW Car Rental: one was the manager and the other an employee. The employee told officers that he went into work at about 8:50am, noticed a broken glass window leading to their office, and called the manager about his discovery. The manager was driving to the site along Beach Road when he noticed a familiar-looking van parked at the Garapan Fishing Base marina. The manager continued toward the location of BW Car Rental and met with the employee who told him that their white Toyota Sienna was missing from the car lot. Both individuals got into the manager’s vehicle and made their way to the Garapan Fishing Base marina before calling 911.

The CNMI Department of Public Safety is seeking the public’s help in identifying the two individuals involved in the BW Car Rental theft case.

If you have any information related to this incident, call 911. If you wish to remain anonymous, call the CNMI Crime Stoppers. (PR)
