Gov. Ralph DLG Torres thanked President Donald Trump yesterday for signing the $900-billion pandemic relief package that will provide cash to businesses and individuals.

Torres said he knows Finance Secretary David DLG Atalig will expedite the process in releasing the second stimulus checks to get the money into the hands of people. The governor said he wants the stimulus out as soon as possible.

The bill, which Trump signed yesterday, includes $600 checks for Americans who earn less than $75,000 per year.

The massive bill also includes $1.4 trillion to fund government operations through September 2021.

Atalig said Thursday that his team is on standby, but prepared once Trump signs the second stimulus bill into law.

Atalig said they are communicating with their Internal Revenue Service partners in trying to get the plan in place.

The secretary noted that they had a very successful plan in the first distribution of the stimulus package.
