Gov. Ralph DLG Torres last week signed two House local bills into law, which appropriated a total of $290,951.34 to fund various projects. Torres signed House Local Bill 19-43 and House Local Bill 19-63 that became Saipan Local Laws 19-18 and Saipan Local Law 19-17, respectively.

The Saipan and Northern Islands Legislative Delegation appropriated $288,312.34 collected from the Third Senatorial District Developers Infrastructure Tax Fund under Business Unit 3730. The money will each fund improvement projects in Precincts, 3, 4, and 5.

The water booster pump for As Falape Road and AAR Loop Road in Garapan’s Precinct 3 had the most money appropriated, which is $150,000, while the drainage and flood control project at Precinct 4 carries a price tag of $69,156.17 that is also the same amount for the paving and drainage construction project of Kanat Tabla Road in Precinct 5.

SLL 19-17, introduced by Rep. Felicidad T. Ogumoro (R-Saipan), will appropriate the remaining fund balance of $2,629 from SLL 17-15 for the repair of the Gualo Rai Youth Center.
