Torres: Good economic viability coming to Tinian
Recent development on Tinian, including Triple J Enterprises’ recently opened restaurant, car rental business, and mini-hotel, are being looked at as positive signs of a good economic viability coming to Tinian, according to Gov. Ralph DLG Torres.
Speaking at a news briefing last week, Torres noted that Triple J Enterprises’ Robert “Bob” Jones is making a huge investment on Tinian. “It really shows that there is light at the end of a tunnel,” he said.
Torres said that seeing a respectable and reputable company like Triple J operating on Saipan and now expanding to Tinian and bringing quality services to the island paints a great picture of economic vitality for Tinian and its people.
Triple J renovated its building on Tinian for its mini-hotel, restaurant, and car rental.
Last November, the governor disclosed that investors are now expanding to Tinian as the U.S. Department of Defense is moving forward with several projects on the island. Torres noted that the U.S. Department of Defense has made a lot of promises throughout the years or decades and that they are now seeing those promises being set in motion.
Meanwhile, Torres also disclosed that he and Lt. Gov. Arnold I. Palacios will be discussing the performance of their Cabinet and that he and Palacios talked about having a survey and rating.
“The lieutenant governor and I will be discussing as to where we go from here with the Cabinet,” said the governor, adding that it’s not necessarily a reshuffle. He did not elaborate.
