In the third round of Roccball’s round-robin season of games for 2023 last week at the Marianas High School Gymnasium, teams and players are beginning to distinguish themselves as competitors.

And last year’s champion Tomodachi and first runner-up Nakama remain undefeated at three wins and no defeat.

In Roccball’s innovative types of plays and unique scoring system which surpasses volleyball’s one point per play activity in a team net sport of this type, there were 46 two-point plays which included 38 aces, four xunks, and four kees, and 14 three- point goals scored. The volleyball type of one-point floor scoring was not recorded.

The team that scored the most points in a game in Round 3 was Tomodachi. Tomodachi continued their three-game winning streak by defeating the Bandits, 51-8. Team Nakama stayed undefeated by outscoring Team Sufa, 48-25. Teams Lotus and Team Dusty Feetz won their third round games by defeating Teams I’d Hit That and Phan Gott, 46-18, and 33-20, respectively.

After three rounds of competition, Team Tomodachi leads the league in three-point plays with seven goals scored, and they lead in two-point plays with 19 ace serves and four two-point backcourt plays made by a team’s goalie known as a kee. The heavy hitter of Round 3 was Juniel  Magtales of Team Tomodachi with two aces, one kee, and two goals scored for a total of 12 points. (PR)
