Tomas is Aquathlon 10K winner

Abel Tomas finished as the overall winner in the 10K run portion of the 6th Aquathlon & 10K Run held last Saturday at the PauPau Beach in Marpi.

Tomas bolted through the 10K course and completed the run in just 45:01, the fastest time in both the male and female division of the event.

The 10K run started from the PauPau Beach in Marpi and the turnaround point was located at the Last Command Post.

Edward Dela Cruz Jr. came in at a close second, finishing just a minute behind Tomas with a time of 46:00.

The third-place title for the male division was awarded to Daniel Stutzman who submitted a time of 52:41.

Akiko Miller prevailed in the female division of the 10K run, as she completed the course in 50:12.

Miller left her opponents in the dust with second place winner Katarina Obsivanova completing the race minutes after her. Obsivanova completed the run with a time of 55:54.

Completing the Top 3 for the women’s division of the run was Lydia Tan who submitted a time of 58:57.

The 6th Saipan Aquathlon and 10K Run is the Triathlon Association of the CNMI’s first event for the 2021 season.

A total of 22 individuals participated in the 10K run event of the Aquthlon. A total of 49 individuals participated in the 6th Saipan Aquathlon and 10K Run, as 27 joined the run-swim-run event.

The Aquathlon event covered a distance of 5 kilometers in the first run, a 1-km swim, and 2.5 kms in the final run.
