Tokahao bounced back from last week’s loss to league-leader Man Amigos by run-ruling Momma Charo, 13-2, in the 2022 Budweiser Belau Amateur Softball Association League last Sunday at the Dandan Softball Field.
Pitcher George David made a 3-run home run right from the get-go to give Tokahao a 4-0 lead. Peter Camacho later crossed home plate to make it 5-0.
Jeff Cruz then singled to score Clint Quitigua in the second as Tokahao continued to spot Momma Charo, 6-0, after two innings.
Momma Charo finally got on the board in the fourth when Leo Bobai and J.J. Laniyo scored on a single by Henry Kani and a sacrifice fly by Izekiel Fitial.

Tokahao would make the celebration brief though as Quitigua and Jerome Delos Santos blasted home runs in the bottom of the inning to score four more runs to make it 10-2.
Momma Charo couldn’t score the rest of the way and to put more salt on the wound, Tokahao would connect on two more moonshots to put the 10-run mercy run rule in effect.
Winning pitcher David had a home run along with four RBIs after going 2-3 at-bat and a run. Quitugua also had four RBIs while going 3-3 at the plate for Tokahao, which improved its record to 4-2.
Fitial led the now 3-3 Momma Charo with two RBIs after going .500 at the plate.
Asahi 25, Salty Boys 5
Steve Bael had six RBIs after a perfect 3-3 performance from the plate to lead Asahi to a 25-5 demolition job of still winless Salty Boys.
Asahi punched-drunk Salty Boys in the first inning as a parade of singles and Bael’s triple scored six runners.
Dominic Ito helped his cause as winning pitcher and Joe Ito connected on a triple of his own as Asahi continued to pile on the runs and led, 14-2, after two innings.
The hits kept on coming for Ashai in the third as even a pitching change by Salty Boys couldn’t stop the deluge as their deficit ballooned to 21-3.
Hideo again scored a round-tripper and Ito tripled as four more Asahi runners made a beeline to home plate to make it 25-3. Hideo then allowed two Salty Boys to score in the fourth before ultimately shutting the rest of the batting order down to end the game via mercy rule.
Asahi raised its record to 3-3, while Salty Boys went deeper down the cellar at 0-7.
Man Amigos 16,
Sufa 10
Man Amigos improved to a league-leading 6-1 thanks to Mario Aguon whose four homers single-handedly beat Sufa, 16-10.
Aguon unloaded his round-trippers in the second, fourth, fifth, and sixth innings.
His second home run was especially crucial as it came after a Peter Sablan grand slam that gave Man Amigos the lead at 10-9.
Eric Palacios, Sablan, and Aguon also homered as part of Man Amigos’ five-run sixth inning to finally keep the game out of reach.
Aguon and Palacios each had five RBIs, while Sablan complemented Aguon’s four home runs with two of his own to lead Man Amigos.
Sufa, which dropped to 2-3, was led by Jude Dickinson and Jun Salila’s four RBIs each. The latter also had two homers and the former one.
Ngaraard Redman 17, Aimeliik 3
Ngaraard Redman run-ruled Aimeliik, 17-3, in a game that saw Peyton Sakura go a perfect 3-3 from the plate and score six runners.
Sakura and company jumped the gun early on Aimeliik as they went up 14-1 after four innings.
Ngaraard Redman would score three more runs in the fourth against Aimeliik’s two runs to make it, 17-3. Juan Diaz would then retire Aimeliik’s batters in order in the top of the sixth to end the game prematurely.
Ngaraard Redman is now 3-2 after the lopsided win, while Aimeliik dropped to 2-5.
Peleliu 23,
Hagu Lamun 19
Peleliu repulsed a scorching rally by Hagu Lamun to eke out a 23-19 victory.
Aided by home runs from John Tarkong, Alvin Salas, and Ben Hocog and triples from Cart Sablan and Juan Lizama, Peleliu opened with a massive 16-0 lead after one inning.
It was 20-2 after two innings, but Hagu Lamun rallied with 16 runs in the next three to make a game out of it.
Luckily, Tarkong homered and crucial singles from Salas and Hocog allowed two more runs to score to give Peleliu a cushion leading, 23-18. Mitch Aaron scored the game’s last run when he was singled in by Joe Celis to finish the game.
Peleliu and Hagu Lamun are now tied in the standings at 3-3 after the game.
