Teacher: JESSE ARRIOLA
Grade 6-8
Leadership Corps

Mr. Arriola is a very humorous guy who is strict when it comes to student learning. His goal is to teach his students to become professionals so that we are ready for life after school. Mr. Arriola is a great person to tell your stories to, and he knows how to have a good time. He is understanding, caring, and committed to his students. Sir, the first time I ever stepped foot in your class, I was nervous. I did not know what to expect. Days went by and it quickly became one of my favorite courses. Through your instruction, you encouraged and guided me to thrive to become professional in the things I do. You inspired me to become a true leader. Thank you for everything, sir. Happy Teacher Appreciation Week from your TMS family!

Teacher: YOANA ACHEN
Grades: 7 and 8
Carolinian Cultural Heritage Studies

Dear Ms. Achen: I guarantee you still remember me when I was like 3 feet tall, not knowing a single thing about what you taught. Yes, it was my first day ever going to school. Back then, Tanapag was an elementary school. So I got to know my first teacher, but then later on we had to line up and walk outside. I wondered, “Was it lunch time?” or “Was it recess?” I later realized we were walking to another classroom. We walked inside and saw you, Mrs. Achen. We were there to learn the Carolinian language and heritage. We loved the dances you taught us, and the sad stories that made most Kindergarteners cry. I guess we were really dramatic at the time. The next couple of years, you continued to remain my teacher and I have learned so much from you. So now I am here in the 7th grade a couple of years later, and I am still happy that you are my teacher. I just wanted to say a big thank you from me and all the Tanapag school family. We love you a lot! Happy Teacher Appreciation Week from your TMS family!

Teacher: RAILANI TABUNDA
Grade 7 and 8
Math

Dear Ms. Railani: You are the smartest teacher I have ever met and I know letters are not the best way to thank you for all you do. You are the teacher that has inspired me to like math. If you ever plan to leave Tanapag Middle School, please always remember that you are loved and cared for by every student in this school. Sometimes you may be discouraged, especially when we misbehave or don’t follow directions but please know that we care about you because you are special. What makes you special is the way you care for and respect all students. You are able to solve math problems quickly, like magic. When you make mistakes you are cool, because you always find ways to make it right. We thank you, Ms. Rai, for choosing to teach us here at Tanapag Middle School! Happy Teacher Appreciation Week from your TMS family!

Teacher: SHAWNA BABAUTA
Grade 7 and 8
Science

Have you ever wanted that teacher that understands you as a student ? Well, I’m glad to say I met just the right teacher! She has that smile that welcomes people without being spoken to, a heart big enough to love each and every one of her students, and the knowledge to open minds. Tanapag Middle School is blessed to have such teachers like Ms. Shawna Babauta.
Over the summer of 2016 , before I became an 8th grader I hoped that Ms. Shawna was going to be my homeroom teacher. I made that wish because of all the wonderful stories that were told to me by her previous students. Now that she is my teacher, I realize that she is even better than she was described. Thank you, Ms. Shawna, for all that you did and continue to do not just for your students, but for the entire Tanapag Middle School community! Happy Teacher’s Appreciation Week! “The best teachers are those who show you where to look, but don’t tell you what to see.”

Teacher: TYRON ERMANG
Grade 7 and 8
Language Arts

Mr. Ty is a nice teacher who isn’t as strict as other teachers but he allows students to be themselves in class without being judged. He is also outgoing and fun to be with. Mr. Ty joined the TMS team of teachers back when I was in the 6th grade. I remember telling him that I’d give up. Well, he sure did prove me wrong. Mr. Ty teaches by example by modeling to us to never give up. Mr. Ty helps us learn the way we want, just as long as we get something out of it. The past three years has been great. Never give up. Be the person that you are today. Thank you for being very generous and understanding us all by giving us the right to be ourselves. You are truly the best there is! Thank you very much! Happy Teacher Appreciation Week from your TMS family!

Teacher: JAKE REYES
Grade 6 and 8th Grade
Special Education teacher aide

Mr. Jake is an excellent teacher aide who works very well with middle school students. He is skilled and adjusts to the everyday challenges in a middle school atmosphere. One reason that Mr. Jake is widely famous on campus is that he is a friendly, kind, and a captivating teacher. Surely there is no doubt that Mr. Jake is right for this job.
Mr. Jake has a character that is encouraging to those around him. His smile and willingness to help others makes communication with teens on campus fun and nurturing. Another thing is that teens don’t feel tense around Mr. Jake, because he does not give us any reason to feel pressured or nervous. Another quality that Mr. Jake possesses is his ability to adjust to the environment of middle school. Despite all the emotions, energy, and behavior that middle schoolers display each day Mr. Jake is able to adapt and keep calm. This adaptability shows us that Mr. Jake has what is needed to do his job effectively. We are so thankful for Mr. Jake and all that he brings to the students of Tanapag Middle School. Happy Teacher Appreciation Week from your TMS family!

Teacher: VIVIAN LIMES
Grade: 7th and 8th Grade
Science

Mrs. Vivian is a student teacher at Tanapag Middle School who began her journey with us in February. Mrs. Vivian is extraordinary. She uses a variety of strategies in and outside of the classroom to help us learn. She is one of the most intelligent and smart teachers that I know. Mrs. Vivian prioritizes making her students feel comfortable and accepted in her class. She has definitely helped me succeed in my 8th grade life. One thing she would always tell me is, “Don’t give up, Peter, no matter what. Always try your best.” Mrs. Vivian is a hardworking teacher. She is dedicated, responsible, and caring. We know that she will do a wonderful job as a teacher after she graduates with her education degree. Mrs. Vivian, thank you! You are my inspiration!
