Title contenders trip foes in Thursday billiards
Route 33 Alamo Car Rental, Wild Bill’s, and Joker Homeboyz tripped their respective foes in the continuation of action in the Budweiser-Saipan Billiards Association Open-8 Ball Thursday League last week.
Route 33, Wild Bill’s, and Homeboyz coasted to similar 11-4 wins over the Jokers Wonderpool Aces, the Barcode Breakers, and Jonny’s Team SCS.
Richard Santos, Manny Mariano, Roman Rodriguez, Boyet Sequioco, and Ruben Santos showed the Wonderpool Aces why they are the league’s top team after compiling the most number of wins in the 15 matches they played.
All 15 games are played with each win and loss added to the team’s record.
Route 33 continues to lead the team standings with an 81-54 slate followed by the 77-58 mark of Wild Bill’s and the Abyss Titans’ 76-59 card. The Homeboyz are fourth (75-60) and the Abyss Rack ‘N’ Roll fifth (70-65).
The Magic 8 Ball (69-66), Deadshot (64-71), Wonderpool Aces (61-74), Team SCS (59-76), and Barcode Breakers (43-92) complete the standings.
Wild Bill’s and the Homeboyz swept all of the five Singles 8-Ball matches they played against the Barcode Breakers and Team SCS, respectively, to start the one-sided contest.
The Titans and the Barcode Hobbies Deadshot, on the other hand, escaped with similar 8-7 decisions over the Smoke Pub 8 Ball and the Rack ‘N’ Roll.
The Smoke Pub Armatech Hustlers dropped an 8-7 setback against the Jokers IT&E Voyagers, but remain on top of the Tuesday League standings with an 82-53 card followed by their conquerors at 76-59.
The Jokers Str8 Shooters and the Abyss Crazy 8 downed the Abyss Homeboyz II and the Smoke Pub Destroyers with the same score, 9-6.
The St8 Shooters are third with a 65-70 record and was closely followed by the Crazy 8 (63-72) and the Destroyers (62-73). The Homeboyz II are at the Cellar with a 57-68 slate.
