Tinian’s Borja, Aldan seek re-election as team
Senate President Francisco M. Borja (Ind-Tinian) together with Rep. Edwin Aldan (Ind-Tinian) announced to members of the Tinian Leadership and Gov. Ralph DLG Torres that they will be seeking re-election as a team for the upcoming mid-term election.
Borja and Aldan will be seeking the endorsement of both the Tinian and the CNMI Republican Party.
“There is so much more to be accomplished for Tinian and the Commonwealth as a whole. This leadership, despite being from different parties, from the very beginning has always worked as a Team,” stated Borja. “A Borja-Aldan tandem is a team that is united for a common goal and that goal to continue with the work of moving Tinian and the CNMI forward.”
Aldan expressed his appreciation to the Tinian Leadership for their support and asked for their continued support and endorsement as they seek re-election as a team. Aldan was the only independent candidate who was elected at the general election. “I believe that it is always better for Tinian if as leaders, despite our party identities, work as a team for the benefit of our island. That is what we have been doing and that is what we are asking the people to allow us to do by seeking another term as a team.”
Mayor Joey P. San Nicolas expressed his support for the Borja-Aldan tandem pledging his endorsement of the team as soon as they are officially endorsed by the party. “While we have had and continue to have challenges during the course of my administration, the team spirit of the Tinian Leadership has allowed us to tackle those challenges head on. The leadership of Senator Borja and Congressman Aldan has been pivotal in those efforts and for that, they have my full support as they seek another term in public office to serve our community.”
Torres also expressed his support of the Borja-Aldan tandem and pledged his endorsement of the team. “The lieutenant governor and I assure the two of you that you have our full support and the full backing our party.”
Borja, who is also the Tinian Republican’s Party chairman, also announced that he will be stepping down as the Tinian Republican Party chair. After the party has been re-organized with a new leadership, Borja and Aldan will be submitting their letters of intent to seek re-election under the banner of the Tinian Republican Party.
