Tinian’s 2017 Shoreline Fishing Derby on July 3 and 4
The 3rd Annual Shoreline Fishing Derby will take place on Tinian’s Kammer Beach this July 3 and 4. The fishing competition and is open to anglers from 7 to 17 years of age.
The youth derby requires a $5 registration fee and includes a free shirt and a banquet for both days.
The derby will award multiple prizes for multiple categories. Categories include age category, biggest catch, weight, and the variety of catches.
The age group will be split in two. There will be a category from ages 7 to 13 and another age category from 14 to 17.
Each age category will be competing for a prize in the biggest catch category, weight category, and the variety of catches made.
Prizes will range from $25 to $175 in each category. Five winners will be named in each winning category.
If a participant holds the biggest catch title, his/her catch will not be weighed in for the weight category.
In an event that a tie occurs in any category, cash prizes will be cut equally.
Consumption of alcoholic beverages or uses of controlled substance are not allowed during the competition.
Any report of misconduct will immediately lead to disqualification.
Participants must abide by the rules of this competition; failure to do so will result in disqualification.
Interested participants may pick up registration forms and waiver forms at the Tinian Municipal Council or Marianas Visitors Authority office.
Submission of waiver forms and registration forms will not be accepted after July 2, 2017.
