Tinian schools push through with projects

Share

With the passage of Public Law 19-31 wherein the CNMI Legislature authorized the Public School System to enter into a loan agreement for up to $5 million, the Tinian Legislative Delegation worked to include the pavement of the roads and parking lots at the Tinian Elementary School and the Tinian Head Start. The unpaved roads and parking lots have been a longstanding issue that will now be resolved. The Tinian Elementary School parking lot project will cost approximately $267, 890 and has the A&E design 100 percent complete and was formally approved by the Board of Education on Aug. 25. This project will go out to bid together with the Tinian Head Start Road and parking lot project.

The Tinian Head Start road and parking lot project will cost about $100,000. The A&E sesign is in progress and, upon completion, will be announced for bid as well.

As a result of the authorization given to PSS by PL 19-31 and the work of the Tinian Legislative Delegation, these longstanding projects will finally be done. (PR)
