Tinian, Rota senators endorse IT
Two Tinian senators, an independent and a Republican, joined the stream of elected official that have thrown their support behind Gov. Eloy S. Inos and his running mate, Senate President Ralph DLG Torres (R-Saipan).
Sens. Francisco M. Borja (Ind-Tinian) and Francisco Q. Cruz (R-Tinian) gave their endorsements to the NMI Republican Party tandem, a day before the Nov. 21 runoff elections today.
“I have served with Senator Ralph and he has the experience, knowledge, and passion needed to be our lieutenant governor. Ralph and Eloy are the only candidates I trust to lead our Commonwealth,” said Borja.
Cruz, for his part, said that he respects both Inos and Torres immensely and knows very well that they will fight for the people.
Inos said he is once again humbled by the outpouring of support not only from ordinary people of the Commonwealth but its respected leaders as well.
“Ralph and I are so blessed to have the support of these fine gentleman. It has been so wonderful to work with people that share the same passion for the people as they do. Standing side by side with them and the thousands and thousands of people that have supported us is awe-inspiring and we are so thankful,” he said.
On the other hand, Torres said the endorsements of Borja and Cruz means that the Inos-Torres now have all the support of elected officials on the two islands.
“The endorsements today means our campaign has secured the endorsement of virtually every elected official in Tinian and Rota. We are deeply humbled and thankful.”
Inos/Torres will figure in a gubernatorial runoff election with former speaker Heinz S. Hofschneider and former Senate floor leader Ray N. Yumul today.
