In addition to municipal buildings on Tinian, another project of the Municipality of Tinian and Aguiguan that is progressing nicely is the renovation of the Tinian Liaison Office facility on Saipan.
The residents of Tinian who have to permanently reside on Saipan or travel to and from Saipan for medical treatment that is not available at the Tinian Health Center, are accommodated at the Tinian Liaison Office facility. Without this housing facility, residents of Tinian seeking and requiring medical treatment will have bigger challenges with room and board, transportation, and, most importantly, the medical treatment available only on Saipan. The Tinian Liaison Office, located in Lower Navy Hill, is a critical facility that has needed major renovations for years now.
The renovation began on Oct. 5, 2015, but encountered some delays as a result of Typhoon Soudelor.
Work has since continued with the overall renovation and construction work about 86 percnt complete to date. The project is scheduled to be completed by Feb. 2, 2016 but will likely be completed soon thereafter. Current and future projects would not be possible without the support of the Tinian leadership as well as the Office o fthe Governor, Capital Improvement Project office, and other agencies.
“Si Yu’us Ma’ase to all stakeholders involved in the process of moving this project forward so that this critical facility can be upgraded to provide services to the residents of Tinian who have to leave home to seek medical treatment,” said Tinian and Aguiguan Mayor Joey Patrick San Nicolas. (PR)
