The 2014 San Jose Fiesta will kick off tomorrow with a two-day celebration of sports, activities, contests, and entertainment at Kammer Beach.
Booths were open since yesterday and a soft opening will happen tonight from 6pm to 8pm.

The fiesta will then officially start tomorrow, May 2, from 6am to 5pm and will continue on Saturday, May 3, from 6am to 7pm but booths will be open at 10am. It will be followed by a Mass on Sunday morning and a sports competition at 2pm followed by live entertainment.

Today’s soft opening will feature a musical talent competition from 6pm to 7pm and then a beer-drinking contest from 7pm to 8pm.

The festival kicks off tomorrow with the Bottom Fishing Derby. Booths will open at 10am.

Entertainment and activities tomorrow include a band led by J.J. Concepcion, a talent music competition for children, performances by the Taotao Taga Dance Academy, Tinian Elementary Colts, YMB Dancers, Nepalese Dance Troupe, XOT Dancers, Bangladesh Hip Hop Dancers, Southern Warriors, Retrojazz band, a Zumba Dance, and Marvin Guerrero’s band.

The fiesta continues on Saturday starting at 6am with the Tour de Tinian, a bike race. Vida Borja, of Marianas Visitors Authority on Tinian, said the race will start at 6am and end at 1pm.

“It starts from Kammer Beach then ends again at Kammer Beach,” Borja said.

There will also be a sports competition for children from 1pm to 5pm and a music talent competition for children from 5pm to 7pm.

“The Mayor of Tinian and the fiesta committee tried their best to organize this year’s San Jose Fiesta with exciting activities with big prizes and we welcome everyone to participate or simply have fun,” Borja said.
