Share

The Tinian Division of Youth Services Summer Camp, in collaboration with the Tinian Mayor’s Office, recently celebrated the close of its summer camp which served 65 youth participants ages 5 to 13 years old.

Camp participants engaged in various activities including arts/crafts, health and nutrition, life skills, ecosystem, swimming, cooking, and coconut frond weaving. The participants were also joined by volunteers from the PSS AmeriCorps program, the National Honor Society, and the WIA Summer Employment Training Program participants.

According to DYS administrator Vivian Sablan, the success of the camp would have not been possible without the tireless partnership efforts of the Tinian Mayor’s Office and Tinian Youth Center staff, Department of Lands & Natural Resources, Tinian Municipal Council, Teen for Teen Center, Northern Marianas College, Public School System, and the Tinian DCCA.

The culminating event was held last Friday and was celebrated along with the open house event for the Tinian Youth Center.
