Tinian child seat checkpoints
The Tinian Highway Patrol will be doing seatbelt and child seat checkpoints this week.
On Thursday, Sept. 21, 2016, the first checkpoint will be by the Youth Center on the southbound lane on Broadway Road and will commence at 11am and end at 12:15pm. The second setup will be by the baseball field on the eastbound lane on Route 202 and will start at 4pm and end at 5:15pm.
On Friday, Sept. 22, 2016, the first checkpoint will be by the Hofschneider warehouse in Marpo Valley on the westbound lane on Broadway Road and will start at 6am and end at 7:15am. The second setup will be across the Youth Center on the southbound lane on Broadway Road and will start at 11am and end at 12:15pm. The third setup will be by the Tinian Center on the southbound lane on Broadway Road and will start at 4pm and will end at 5:15pm.
On Saturday, Sept. 23, 2017, there will be a courtesy car seat inspection at the Tinian Ace Hardware parking lot from 9am to 2pm. Certified child passenger safety technicians will be available to inspect safety seats to ensure they are correctly installed. This is a free service to the community. The Department of Public Safety encourages parents and caregivers on Tinian to stop by to learn more about proper installation and use of child safety seats and booster seats. (PR)
