It’s about time

I read in the Saipan Tribune that Northern Marianas College will be offering a Bachelor of Business degree, and upgrading its accreditation status to the Senior WASC Commission, two actions that we have been striving for through the years. It’s about time. We have been pushing for a Bachelor in Business program when I joined the NMC faculty in 2000 on Rota and since moving to NMC Saipan in 2002. It has been 14 years in the making and maybe we will finally get what the CNMI needs to keep our superb students on island, instead of losing them to stateside universities and eventually mainland jobs. We must take care of our own here at home, and these are major steps in that direction.
