Tight finish seen in 8-ball league

It will be an interesting seven weeks in the SBA Budweiser Open 8-Ball Tuesday League as four teams are locked in a tight battle for the division crown led by two teams sponsored by 9 Eleven Resto Bar.
The Hustlers, also supported by Docomo Pacific, are tied with sister team Titans on top of the six-team field with both squads sporting a 96-73 records each followed by Chow Time Blue Haus Destroyers and Tasha’s Str8 Black Ball with 95-74 slates, respectively.
Tasha’s Crazy 8 (63-106) and Chow Time Assassins (62-107) complete the standings.
The Hustlers—one of the veteran-stacked teams in the league—completed an 8-5 work of the Crazy 8 to remain on top and the Titans tied them afterwards following a similar 8-5 triumph against the Str8 Black. The Destroyers defeated the Assassins, 8-5.
The Hustlers will face the Str8 Black Ball next Tuesday. Their remaining schedule will be against the Assassins (Aug. 1), Destroyers (Aug. 8), Titans (Aug. 15), Crazy 8 (Aug. 22), Str8 Black Ball (Aug. 29), and Assassins (Sept. 5).
The Titans’ other matches are against the Destroyers (July 25), Cray 8 (Aug. 1), Assassins (Aug. 8), Str8 Black Ball (Aug. 22), Destroyers (Aug. 29), and Crazy 8 (Sept. 5).
The Destroyers will also be facing Str8 Black Ball (Aug. 1 and Sept. 5), Crazy 8 (Aug. 15), and Assassins (Aug. 22) while Str8 Black Ball will clash with Crazy 8 (Aug. 15) and Assassins (Aug. 22).
The league’s Bud Cup will be played after the Top 3 of the season is known in the final matches on Sept. 5. The awards banquet is set in November.
