Three Chinese magazines have recently wrapped up seven days of coverage in the Northern Marianas targeting high-end travelers.
Travelling Scope, WiTrip, and Travel Plus visited Saipan, Tinian, and Rota on May 25- 31, covering a wide range of tourist attractions in this multi-island tropical beach resort.
Travelling Scope, with a circulation of 657,000, targets high-income groups making several trips a year and will feature an eight-page spread on the Northern Marians this month. WiTrip, with a circulation of 200,000, targets well-heeled members of large banks, high-end private clubs, and other large companies and will carry a 10-page feature. The group was assisted by the Marianas Visitors Authority with film permitting and a language-specific coordinator.
“On Rota, to emphasize the warm local hospitality, we arranged a beach barbecue party at Teteto Beach with a local family, live band, and traditional crafts,” said MVA Marketing manager Bruce Bateman.
On Saipan the FAM tour group lodged and filmed at Pacific Islands Club Saipan and Fiesta Resort Spa. Other activities and locations included snorkeling at Grotto, Mandi Asia Spa, Saipan World Resort dinner show, Country House Restaurant, Hard Rock Café, Sea Touch marine animal encounter, a lagoon tour aboard the submarine Deep Star, award-winning Managaha, parasailing, Kinpachi Restaurant, shopping, and an island tour.
