Accessories can be the shining feature that ties any outfit together.

With the busy schedules of this year’s winners of Miss Earth 2019 CNMI edition—from simple gatherings to nighttime cocktails, galas, and events—these beauties with a purpose all have go-to accessories that pull off that well-put look without looking overdressed. They all agree that no single woman today can do without partnering their wardrobe without an accessory.

Deleon Guerrero was crowned last June and an array of activities followed her here and off island. Her must-have accessory are her pearl earrings.

“Pearl is my birthstone and…I have a natural inclination to its beauty. I have pearl accessories, from earrings to necklace and a bracelet,” she said.

Pearls are said to be this generation’s diamonds. Aside from being less expensive than diamonds, pearls, with their translucent aura and soft colors, have a flattering effect on a woman’s complexion and creates “instant glamour.”

“It is so natural, simply elegant and it compliments whatever outfit you are wearing, from simple white shirt and jeans to an elegant black dress. …I wear them for Miss Earth social functions, parties, weddings and when I dance the hula,” she added.

Deleon Guerrero has a collection that she purchased in Hawaii “and those are special to me.”

Earrings are also Cruz’s accessory of choice because, according to her, it helps her create different looks. “A fashion accessory that I always make use of would be earrings. It makes me feel confident and I feel that wearing earrings enhances how I look, [whether] with or without makeup,” she said.

Another accessory that Cruz cannot go without and she always takes with her is a bag because “I am able to carry some important stuff that I need every time I go out.”

Even basic accessories can create a ton of magic and stay with you for keeps for sentimental reasons, according to David.

The accessory that David brings with her to all social functions that she attends, no matter the occasion, is her stainless steel necklace with a black silicone ring attached to it. Plus all the sentimental reasons that come with the accessory.

“…This necklace, both the chain and the ring, were given to me as gifts by three very important people in my life. The stainless steel chain was given to me by my grandparents to represent the bond that [I] and my three close cousins had [while] growing up. The black silicone ring was given to me by my dad when he came back from a medical trip with my mom,” she said.

As she tells it, her whole family knew that she has always wanted to study marine biology. “So one day, my dad and mom went out to one of the beaches [in] Guam and my dad found the ring lying in the sand while snorkeling. …For him to hold on to a mere black ring their entire trip must have definitely meant something to him and how much he believes in me,” she added.

Johnson cannot go out of the house without her hoop earrings on. “Hoop earrings make me feel confident, like I am ready to conquer the world,” she said.

She also mixes and matches different accessories for the fun and excitement of it. “During formal events, I like to find accessories that pull my outfit together. For example, if I am wearing a dress with a silver detail, then I’d grab a purse with a silver buckle and a chained silver necklace. Having the right accessories really makes or breaks an outfit,” she added.
