Police officers were dispatched to the Grandvrio Resort Saipan in Garapan last July 22, 2019, at about 6:30pm, in response to a 911 call about a theft incident at the hotel.

Nearby officers arrived at the lobby at about 6:32pm and met with a Korean male, who claimed to be the caller. According to the victim, he left his room at about 5:30pm to take a walk around the hotel while housekeeping cleaned up his room. After a few minutes, the victim returned to his room and noticed that his wallet was out of place, with his money, credit card, and cellphone missing. The victim then contacted the front desk using the hotel room telephone to report the incident before calling 911.

After the officer interviewed the victim, he was brought to review the security footage in the surveillance room. The officer noticed a large built male, wearing a blue sweater, a black baseball cap, and sunglasses walk into the room of the victim after the housekeeping staff had left.

Items taken include a black Samsung Galaxy S10 cellphone, $375, a bank security card, and a credit card.

If you have any information on the identity of the suspect in this theft incident at the Grandvrio hotel in Garapan, call 911. If you wish to remain anonymous, call the CNMI Crime Stoppers hotline at 234-7272.
