The youth of the CNMI saves the day

Without the incredible effort of over 150 youth volunteers, the Red Cross would not have been able to help those in need in the aftermath of Typhoon Soudelor.

“These kids are our ‘superstars’ and have been an integral part of our response effort over the past month,” said Tayna Belyeu-Camacho, Red Cross board chair. “Their willingness to help others while their own homes were impacted by the storm is a testament to community service and sacrifice for the greater good.”

Over the past five weeks, youth teams have dedicated hundreds of hours of volunteer service. They have worked long hours assisting in casework, logistics, warehousing, and operations.
