The Green Gala welcomes PTC, TSL Foundation as title sponsors

The Mariana Islands Nature Alliance recently welcomed the Pacific Trading Co. and the Tan Siu Lin Foundation as title sponsors of its signature fundraising event, the Green Gala.

The Green Gala, which will be held this Friday, May 18, 2012, at the Fiesta Resort’s Hibiscus Hall, aims to raise critical funds to help MINA, a nonprofit organization, continue its work in protecting the environment.

“We’re really grateful to PTC and TSL Foundation for their generosity and their support in helping to make the Green Gala event a great success,” said Fran Castro, MINA board member and chairperson of the Green Gala planning committee. “We’re still encouraging many other companies to also be a part of this special event by becoming a sponsor, donating items for the silent auction, or by purchasing tickets.”

The leading conservation, nonprofit organization in the Commonwealth, MINA has successfully implemented many projects, including the Obyan Rehabilitation Project, the Teacher Environmental Camp, the Marine Debris Prevention, Tasi Watch Project, and the Adopt-A-Bin Project, which project has placed recycle bins at all the major beaches on the island.

In order to continue its efforts to preserve and protect the CNMI’s fragile environment and biodiversity, MINA is seeking the community’s participation in the Green Gala event. The organization is supported by project grants and from generous contributions from local businesses and community members.

In addition to great entertainment, dinner and a variety of beverages,The Green Gala will feature highlights from MINA’s projects, a silent auction, and many other activities that promises a memorable evening.

“It’s going to be a great night for the environment,” added Castro.
