The Game remained perfect in the open division after routing Vizion Inusrance, 85-71, in the third game of the Inaugural SCLC Basketball League last Thursday at the Gillette Multi-Purpose Gymnasium in Gualo Rai.
Jeff Sagun started the game with guns ablaze, firing 6 points in the opening 10 minutes to help The Game open with a 22-16 spread after the first quarter.
High-flying Mac Mintac took over from where Sagun left off and poured in 12 points in the second half, while Joe Sablan tripled thrice as The Game padded its lead, 44-23, at the halftime break.
Rodel Pastrana and Jello Bungabong tried to rally Vizion Insurance at the start of the third, combining for 15 in the third quarter. However, The Game continued to have the driver’s seat and led, 63-43, heading into the fourth and final quarter.
The Game lowered its guard somewhat in the payoff period, allowing John Capuyon and Ace Agustin to explode for 10 and 8 points, respectively, in the final 10 minutes of action. Despite the disinterest in defense though, The Game still managed to win its second game in as many matches with the 14-point win.
