Thanks for a historic day
All of our families would like to express our sincere gratitude to Gov. Eloy S. Inos and Lt. Gov. Ralph DLG. Torres for your blessings and support for the creation of the new Department of Fire and Emergency Medical Services. Words cannot begin to express how much we appreciate the author of this law, 18-57 SD-2, our Lt. Gov. Ralph DLG. Torres.
We’re proud to be here today with the leadership that we have. What a wonderful day today is. It is truly a monumental and historic day for the CNMI’s firefighters. Our governor and lieutenant governor have listened and taken us on this road and today we are proud to say that we are officially a Department of Fire and Emergency Medical Services in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. We are so pleased and happy to be a part of this history.
When you live in a small community for a very long time, you build relationships that last a lifetime. We are all a big part of the CNMI. The island community of Saipan, Tinian, and Rota have shown their incredible and overwhelming support. The feedback from everyone was extremely positive. We love you and thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
There are too many people and businesses to name for fear we would forget someone. Throughout the grace of God, and all the support we have received, we have walked through this difficult journey knowing that we are not alone.
So, on behalf of all the firefighters, families and supporters, we could like to thank sincerely our Lt. Gov. Ralph Torres who helped make today a reality of our long time dream. We thank you again, sir.
There is nothing like the brotherhood of the Fire Department. Firefighters/EMS are called to act in extreme circumstances on a moment’s notice. This is an important milestone that is not just about cutting checks but about supporting those who do so much everyday to keep us all safe.
