Thanks for your confidence and for voting for me to represent you. I’ve dedicated my career and my life to my passions. My passions are our biological environment and our people. I am especially concerned about the legacy that we are creating today for those who will follow behind us. My dad always told me that I have a responsibility to leave things better than what they were when I got here. It is my duty to honor my family and to dedicate myself to our collective future. I selected my platform issues with this in mind: wastewater, watershed, submerged lands, and NMI descendant registry. At first, you might think: What’s this guy going on about? But if you follow me, you will see that each item builds to the greatest purpose: the environment and our people—our collective inheritance and our responsibility for guarding our resources for those who come after us.

Our resource agencies have the responsibility, but we need to make sure they have the resources they need to do their job. I will continue to work with this new Legislature to prioritize projects, identify resources, and advocate for sustainability. I believe strongly that we have to prioritize protecting our groundwater, our lagoon, and our submerged lands, and especially making sure that our three-miles state waters are managed equitably.  I will continue to push for regulations and plans for the use of our shared resources and be guardian to equity and access as well as environmentally appropriate use of our three-miles state waters and our submerged lands.

Last, I ask you, who are we protecting and conserving the CNMI’s resources for? As stewards of Northern Marianas descent, and looking forward to the time that my generation is not here, it is also so important that we move forward with the NMD registry issue. We need to have a clear record of our ancestry, our lineage, and of those who will inherit our islands and their resources.

If you know me, you already know that I am passionate about protecting our resources and establishing sustainable management plans for our future generations. I believe in leading by example and I believe that my generation, like my father’s before me, has a responsibility to steward our resources for my son and all the sons and daughters of the CNMI.  Even if you don’t know me, please be 100% clear that all of my actions are for the care and responsibility that we each have for ourselves and the future of the CNMI.
