Thank you, Wang Guolong
Wang is absolutely right. The 50 or so old NMDs that have run the CNMI since 1978 don’t seem to realize how many of you there are here. They all wear “the emperor’s new clothes” and one day soon, some little kid is going to tell them they are indeed naked.
To those who control everything, remember, you have never built anything yourself. Everything in the CNMI was built by CWs. At least a lot of the Carolinians built their own houses with their own hands, not small, just right. But the rich 50 have never soiled their hands on anything other than dirty money.
What the rich need to understand is that 99 percent of the hardworking local NMDs, U.S. citizens, CWs, and former TT residents don’t really care about politics. They just want a decent life, things that work, medical care when needed, enough money to raise their family, and have a beer and barbecue on the weekend. They don’t care who is in charge as long as they are treated with dignity and respect, something you guys need to work on.
What if a spaceship takes all of our 31 leaders?
If aliens from outer space zapped our governor and lieutenant governor and all the House and Senate members up into their spaceship and zipped them away to a faraway planet, most of us wouldn’t even know it for a few days, I’m sure. Power would stay on, you could get in the hospital, apply for a driver’s license, and the grass would still be cut. It’s our hardworking people that really keep the government running, not those 31 people on the hill.
Getting old used to mean you got wiser but the 50 or so leaders that run everything haven’t kept up. Today it just means you try to get richer and get more stuff than your neighbor, who you probably don’t even know. Even religion has gotten competitive. Used to be a couple, now there are 20 vying for your soul and your money.
Speaking of leaders, I saw a new giant sign today across the street from Payless market. Bruce Iglacias is running for the Legislature and, like everyone else running, at least on all the signs along the roads, he offers not one single reason for us to vote for him. He, and everyone else on every sign, on every roadway, doesn’t give us a website to visit to find out who he is, what he is, or what he will do for us. Bruce does have a Facebook page but nothing on it helps us understand who he is. Don’t vote for him, or anyone else, unless they give us good reasons too, before Election Day.
Get smart. Use the $11K wisely.
Thanks Hyatt, it’s a nice gesture but what JKPL really needs to do is buy 150 touch screen tablets with that $11,000, not more outdated computers. JKPL could put in a couple more routers with increased capabilities and, voila, 150 people a day could hook up. Tablets let people ‘FaceTime’, explore, study, write, email, take pictures, make videos to upload to YouTube and use over 50,000 free apps. JKPL might even “lend” them out like they do books. We need to get over this notion of computers. Touch screen tablets are computers now and really good ones are available for about $70 each. JKPL, please “get smart,” its 2014.
