“Congratulations to all the winners. We, the derby committee, and Tinian Fishers Association would like to thank all the sponsors for this year’s Tinian Beef, Beer and Bands Festival Fishing Derby,” said TFA president Richard Farrell.

The TFA especially thanked Gov. Ralph DLG Torres for sponsoring an additional prize for the yellowfin category and for providing the T-shirts of the participants

They also extended their kudos to Tinian Mayor Edwin Aldan for sponsoring the prizes for this year’s Tinian Beef, Beer and Bands Festival Fishing Derby.

The TFA also thanked the following agencies whose support was critical in the success of this year’s one-day fishing tournament: Tinian Mayor’s Office staff, Department of Public Safety Boating Safety Unit, Department of Fire and Emergency Management Services, and Department of Lands and Natural Resources-Division of Fish and Wildlife.

Lucky Harvest also won the wahoo category and pocketed the $1,500 purse associated with the catch after Raiukiulipiy and company reeled in a 35-pounder.

In the yellowfin category, San Juan skippered by Tony Maestro with deckhand Earl Moises hooked a 69-lb fish to win the top prize of $1,500.

Captain Rodulfo Laguanay and his crew of Amovy and Rico Laguanay of SMA was No. 1 in the tuna or katsu category, while captain Ray Roberto of the Mistress lorded it over everyone in the mahi category with their 3-lb catch.
