Teteto Beach is voted No. 1 for 3rd year in a row
For the third straight year, Teteto Beach on the island of Rota was selected as the No. 1 Readers’ Choice Best Beach Overseas at the Dive and Travel Awards of the annual Marine Diving Fair in Japan.
Although the fair has been postponed, awards were announced by the organizers in April 2020.
In addition, Megumi Takaku of Blue Palms Dive Service Rota again won first place
Readers’ Choice Favorite Dive Guide Overseas for second consecutive year, while Miyuki Ishihara of Super Fish Diving placed third. Blue Palms also won second place as the Readers’ Choice Favorite Dive Operator, Overseas for a second consecutive year.
“It’s incredible that after so many years of the Dive and Travel Awards, the Marianas continues to remain top-of-mind for divers and watersports lovers in Japan,” said Marianas Visitors Authority managing director Priscilla M. Iakopo. “Through the years, we have won many awards, and it has always been one of MVA’s goals to continue to promote our destination for people to remember our pristine natural beauty and professional and friendly tourism workers of the Marianas.”
In addition, Saipan, Tinian, and Rota combined won second place for the second year in a row as Readers’ Choice Best Diving Area Overseas (the destination won fourth place last year) and first place Diving Destination You Want to Go Next.
Marine Diving Fair is Japan’s leading consumer diving show, targeting consumers and trade representatives in Japan and other Asian countries. The fair is usually held at Ikebukuro Sunshine City Convention Center in Tokyo and is tentatively rescheduled to later this year. (PR)
