HONOLULU, Hawaii—The First Hawaiian Bank has elected Mark Teruya to serve on the First Hawaiian Bank board of directors, according to an announcement yesterday by Bob Harrison, First Hawaiian Bank chairman and CEO.

“We are pleased to add Mark Teruya to our bank’s board,” said Harrison. “With his four decades of business industry experience we look forward to his expert insights and we anticipate that First Hawaiian will benefit from his contributions.”

Teruya is chairman and chief executive officer of Armstrong Produce, Ltd., a locally owned, family run full-service wholesale produce distributor established in the 1940s by his grandparents and later expanded by his father, Harold Teruya. Armstrong Produce, Ltd. has supported producers of locally grown produce and has initiated several innovations, establishing the company as Hawaii’s leading produce wholesaler. Teruya serves on the boards of the Rehabilitation Hospital of the Pacific Foundation, Hawaii Sports Hall of Fame, and the Hawaii Food and Wine Festival. (FHB)
