Tenorio, Oh score most goals in 2018 Spring M-League
MP United Football Club’s Sunjoon Tenorio and Korean Football Association on Saipan’s Juan Oh recorded the most goals in the 2018 Spring M-League that concluded early this month.
Tenorio had 22 goals to lead Division A, while Oh tallied 23 in Division B.
Tenorio earned more than half of MP United’s total goals for the season, as the team made 40 and yielded only 5—the least allowed by any team in the entire league.
The MP United striker was the lone player in the division to score at least 20 goals, as second placer and TanHoldings’ Martin Jambor recorded only 11. MP United’s Anthony Fruit had 7, while Paire’s Jonathan Takano and the Teen Ayuyus’ Rintaro Miyawaki earned 6 each, and TanHoldings’ Jersh Angeles, Winners’ Junsik Kim, and Paire’s Daniel Agulto collected 5 apiece.
In Division B, Oh’s 23 (out of KFAS’ 76) beat the 17 each of Matansa’s Amzad Khan and the former’s teammate Oliver Lee. Edwin Kim, also of KFAS, made 11, while Pacific Islands Club’s Albert Bergancia rounded out the Top 5 with his 10 goals.
KFAS finished first in Division B after the elimination with its 9-0-1 win-draw-loss record, but ended up in third place as it lost to Shirley’s in the semifinals. Matansa ruled Division A following a 3-0 victory over Shirley’s in the finals.
In Division A, MP United topped the regular season with its 8-1-0 win-draw-loss record and also ruled the group after edging Paire FC in their title game, 1-0.
