Commonwealth Utilities Corp. customers in San Jose and Oleai will experience a temporary water service interruption on Wednesday, July 29, as crews continue work on the Department of Public Works’ Texas Road Improvement Project.

At 8am, CUC will temporarily interrupt water service to customers in San Jose and Oleai to allow DPW’s contractor, AIC Marianas Inc., to divert a 10-inch water main in San Jose in order to make way for the road improvements.

Work on the project is expected to take up to nine hours to complete, at which time water service will be restored to the area. Customers in the vicinity may temporarily experience higher than normal chlorine levels as part of the sanitization process when the main is put back into service. CUC advises customers to run the water until the chlorine level is reduced.

CUC also encourages all customers in the affected communities to conserve water and that those who have water tanks and cisterns ensure their on-site equipment is fully functional and sanitary.

For more information about the project, contact our 24-hour Call Center at 664-4CUC (4282). (CUC)
