Teigita, Reyes still SBL leaders

Isaiah Teigita and Jason Reyes are still atop the leaderboard of the Tan Holdings-Saipan Baseball League 2023 individual rankings as of May 26.

Teigita from the Braves is the batting leader again with 11 hits out of 20 at-bats, for a .550 batting average; second is the Cardinals’ Nokki Saralu with a .522 average from 12 out of 23 at-bats; third is Cardinals’ Brian Camacho with a. 500 average with 10 out of 20 at-bats.

Teigita is also the strikeout leader among all the pitchers with 28; Kevin Kapileo and R.J. Riungel are tied with 22; Jose Lizama has 21; M.J, Sakisat, Jason Reyes, and Virgil Secharmidal have 19 each; and Tony Benavente has 17.

Jason Reyes of the Survivors is still the pitching leader with a zero earned run average one win from five games and 16 innings pitched, zero earned runs, and 12 hits against him; second to him is the Cardinals’ Nathan Guerrero also with zero ERA, a 2-0 record in two games and nine innings pitched, zero ER, and five hits against him; and third is the CK Bears’ Virgil Secharmidal with zero ERA, two wins and no losses from four games and 12 innings pitched, zero ER, and four hits against him.

The most runs scored is 15 by Nokki Saralu; followed by teammate Shane Yamada’s 10; Eli Aughenbaugh, Jerald Cabrera, and Isaiah Teigita have nine each; and Jonathan Wilson, Nathan Camacho, Giovanni Mira, and James Salalila have eight each.

J.R. Suel and Poland Masaharu have the most doubles with three each; and Henry Lizama, Jose Lizama, Isaiah Teigita, Andrew Camacho, Vicente Camacho, Larson Sibetang, Nokki Saralu, Brian Camacho, Nathan Camacho, Jerald Cabrera, Shane Yamada, Byron Kaipat, Jerome DISantos, and Franko Nakamura are all tied with two each.

Josenio Alvarez leads with the most triples at three; Ben Leon Guerrero, Brian Camacho, and Nokki Saralu have two each; and Kimo Angailan, Jordan Suel, Henry Aguon, Jobe Reyes, Harry Nakamura, J-Boy Mendiola, Eli Aughenbaugh, and Arby Yaguel have one each.

Only two home runs have been hit so far with one each by Henry Lizama and Nokki Saralu.

The most RBIs was made by Nathan Camacho and Poland Masaharu with nine each; Brian Camacho and Giovanni Mira are tied with eight each; Jerald Cabrera, Nokki Saralu, and Shane Yamada have seven each; and Harry Nakamura and Josenio Alvarez have six each.

The Cardinals are still undefeated with six wins; Falcons are 5-1; Bears are 4-1; Natives are 4-3; Jr. Nationals are at 3-2; Blue Jays have a 3-4 record; Braves are 2-4; the Bandits are 1-3; the Brewers and Survivors are 1-4; and the D-9er’s have yet to win with four losses.

Games have been delayed due to the passing of Typhoon Mawar toward the end of May. Games were supposed to resume right after, but light issues on the field caused the season to delay even further. As of yesterday, the lights were fixed and games resumed last night.
