“It’s really a great turnout this evening. We really enjoyed the fashion show,” said Stellar Marianas vice president Sonya Pangelinan-Dancoe.

Pangelinan-Dancoe expressed her gratitude to the sponsors who helped make the event possible. “We also thank the girls for their commitment and their time despite their busy schedules,” she said.

She also heaped praise on the organizers. “It was very successful. We hope to have more of this event in the future.”

Among the 16 candidates who participated in the fashion show were Nemerlyn Magat, Tiana Tudela Reyes, Aiko D. Erungel, Emmalou Cabrera, Chelsea Karen Fama, Lynnette Joyce Vasquez, Jacklyn Garote, Sheena Serrano, Michelle Faller, and Gianna Camacho.

The fashion show was one of the highlights of last Saturday’s Marianas Music Festival that featured local musical talents. The festival is Marpac’s initiative.

Stellar Marianas announced its return to the beauty pageant circuit last February after a long hiatus. A nonprofit pageant and talent group, Stellar Marianas took a break from organizing the Little Miss Marianas, Miss Marianas Teen, and Miss Marianas Universe pageants in 2008.

This year, Stellar Marianas is holding the coronation night for Miss Teen Marianas 2014 on July 12. This year’s Miss Marianas Teen will represent the Northern Marianas in the Miss Teen International pageant.

Miss Marianas Teen 2014 will win a crown, trophy, sash and flowers, $1,000 cash, all-expense-paid travel opportunity to compete at Miss Teen International, all-expense-paid travel opportunities, a brand new smartphone, one-year supply of beauty products, one-year gym membership and personal trainer, one-year use of a personal stylist and manicurist, a professional model portfolio, a four-piece luggage set from Stellar Marianas, and an opportunity to create and implement a community project under her name assisted by Stellar Marianas.

Besides the Miss Teen Marianas, the nonprofit group is also set to re-launch the Miss Marianas Universe 2015 in January. It is also looking at bringing in the Miss Earth and Miss World titles to give more opportunities to CNMI women.
