Competing teams in the 2015 Asia-Pacific-Middle East Junior, Senior, and Big League Baseball Regional Tournament started arriving on Saipan in time for Friday’s opening at the Francisco M. Palacios Baseball Field.

First to arrive was Guam’s Juniors squad, which only took an hour trip and arrived at the Francisco C. Ada Saipan International Airport at 3:30am. Next was the Junior league team from Australia at 7am, while the Big Leaguers from the Philippines were scheduled to arrive at 2:40pm. Hong Kong’s Juniors and Seniors division teams are scheduled to touch down tomorrow at 1:50am. All teams will be billeted at the Mango Resort.

Other teams—Chinese-Taipei’s Junior and Big league squads, Guam’s Senior and Big league crews, and the Junior and Senior delegations of the Philippines—are also expected to arrive on Thursday. Their meals, starting on Friday, will be provided by Auntie Mag’s (breakfast and dinner) and Herman’s Modern Bakery (for lunch). The organizing committee will also provide mobile phones to 14 teams for coordination.

The press box will be reserved only for tournament officials and statisticians, while an additional tent will be set up for the media that will be covering the regional tournament.

After Friday’s opening ceremony, the CNMI and Guam will play in the first game (Big League) of the tournament at 3pm.
