Marianas Baptist Academy team representing the CNMI to the 2018 National Junior Academic Challenge Championship in Orlando, Florida advanced to the semifinals or finished in the Top 6 of the event.

It was really a tough competition among middle school students. Participants in this competition were winners from their own district. It was really a “battle of the brains.” One must be a wide reader, equipped with knowledge in all subject areas including Bible, music, computer, and arts. Most challenging questions thrown were in history, geography, literature, math, and science.

Coaches Manuel Castro Jr. and Eleonor Alejo and the five students—Sebastian Dearborn Bernardo, Deancey Adriel Chua, Lyndon Digno, Joanah Victoria Jimenez, and Keith Gester Villasin—considered it a great experience for reaching the semifinals. MBA would like to thank the Public School System for the financial support, MBA principal Pastor Trinidad, and parents and guardians for their help and prayers. (PR)
