Coming from a family of business people, young entrepreneur Mulan Ta wanted a business that she enjoys and could share with the community. This vision was crystal clear when despite of the pandemic, Ta, her parents, and siblings opened their new business venture, Tbar. Tbar is located next to Dollar Days along Beach Road in Garapan where they serve different kinds of unique beverages such as milk tea, flavored tea, and Vietnamese iced coffee.
“The concept of Tbar came about in the middle of 2019. We knew we wanted to focus on tea and coffee beverages and include our last name which starts with the letter ‘T.’ Tbar is a play on tea and ‘T’ hence the name ‘T Bar.’ We initially wanted to open in March 2020, however, when the pandemic hit we had to push back and used that time to perfect our milk tea and boba recipes until it was deemed safe to open,” Ta said.

“Currently we offer milk tea, fruit tea, and Vietnamese iced coffee. Our popular drinks are winter melon milk tea, peach mango tea, passion fruit tea, and Vietnamese iced coffee… We believe our shop offers an experience that is different from other drink shops because we make your drinks to order and can customize your sugar/ice levels and the milk and fruit tea series, customers can choose between a black or green tea base. To top off your drink, you can include add-ins such as boba (tapioca pearls), aloe jelly, coconut jelly, and basil seeds,” Ta added.
The beverages that they have is one thing but the ambiance of Tbar is another feature that customers can look forward to. The ambiance is modern, clean, and warm. It invites people to really enjoy their drink and sitting on stool bars while talking to friends or having a little work done in their laptop.
“Tbar has a chill vibe and it was the feel that we were going for just like how the island lifestyle is…You can see the baristas through our glass windows preparing your drink as soon as it is ordered… We plan to sell more specialty drinks, ice cream and some snacks in the near future,” Ta said.
